FARMINGTON — A convicted sex offender was indicted Tuesday on new charges related to sexually abusing two Massachusetts boys in Maine, according to court documents.
John Fahnley, 58, of Madrid Township, was indicted by a Franklin Superior Court grand jury on Class A gross sexual assault and two charges of class C sexual abuse of a minor.
According to court documents, the alleged crimes occurred on East Madrid Road when the victims, now 19 and 25 years old, were still minors.
Fahnley became a 10-year registrant on the Maine Sexual Offender Registry in 2003 after being convicted and sentenced to 3.5 years probation for abusing a Massachusetts child under the age of 16.
Gross sexual assault is punishable by up to 30 years in prison and $30,000 in fines. The two sexual abuse of a minor charges are punishable by up to five years in prison and $5,000 in fines each.
