FARMINGDALE — The Hall-Dale girls tennis team breezed to a 4-1 win against Dirigo on Wednesday, posting its third Mountain Valley C onference championship in a row.

The Bulldogs swept all three singles matches with Clio Barr downing Addy Fuller, 7-5,6-2 at first singles. Hall-Dale’s Maura Stottler dropped her first set to Dirigo’s Ryanne Dailey 6-2, but bounced back to win the next two, 6-3, 6-1, to win the match. At third singles, Nicole Pelletier defeated Grace Hebert 6-0, 6-1.

The first doubles team of Anais Truman and Autumn St. Pierer lost their match 6-1, 6-4, but the Hall-Dale’s second doubles team of Danielle Brosseau and Thea Sweet downed Sierra Keane and Christina Freige,6-1, 6-1.

 The Bulldogs (12-1) enter the upcoming Western Maine Class C playoffs as the top seed.

Softball

Edward Little 9, Cony 1: Edward Little scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to hand Cony its first loss of the season.

Kory Norcross had a triple and three RBIs to lead the Red Eddies (7-6). Molly Murray overcame six walks to earn the victory.

Hannah Farrington had a double and a single for EL as well.

Arika Brochu and Olivia Deeves had the lone hits for Cony (12-1).

Bangor 6, Messalonskee 2: The Rams scored five unearned runs in the seventh inning on their way to a KVAC A win over the Eagles in Oakland.

Bangor (9-6) took advantage of four Messalonskee errors in the seventh. Skylar Cassum earned the win, allowing five hits and striking out seven.

Kylee Knight had two singles for Messalonskee (11-3).

Oxford Hills 2, Erskine 1, 8 innings: Abby Bernier hit an RBI double to score Annika Kahkonen with the eventual winning run as the Vikings edged the Eagles in a KVAC A game in South China.

Bernier also had two singles to go along with her double. Shannon Fillebrown had a pair of hits for Oxford Hills (11-3) as well.

Avery Bond and Alison Gauvin each had two hits for Erskine (7-7).

Hall-Dale 10, Carrabec 7:
Emily Maynard had three singles and Hall-Dale rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth after Carrabec scored five in the top of the inning to post the MVC victory in Farmingdale.

Hailey Taker and Becca Ackerson each had two hits for the Bulldogs (8-5).

Bailey Atwood had a single and a double to lead the Cobras (4-9).

Winthrop 4, Mt. Abram 3: Alyssa Arsenault brought home the winning run on a ground ball to second as the Ramblers scored three times in the top of the seventh to edge the Roadrunners in Salem Township.

In the Winthrop seventh, Lily Ouellette had a bunt single, Abby Helm singled, and Randi Dennett also had a single.

Taylor Jordan pitched a four-hitter for Mt. Abram (5-8) and also had two of the Roadrunners’ five hits. Taylor Henderson scored all three runs for Mt. Abram, including one in the bottom of the seventh.

Krissy Doughty pitched a five-hitter for Winthrop (8-5).

Girls lacrosse

Messalonskee 17, Camden Hills 8: Allison Fishchang, Kristy Bernatchez and Sydney Gagne all scored four goals as the Eagles beat the Windjammers.

Kristen Kern and Lucy Guarnieri each added two goals, while Mikayla Turner had a goal and Lily DeLisle an assist for Messalonskee (10-0). Izzy Skinner made 11 saves to earn the win.

Alice Flint had two goals and two assists, while Lea Smith added two goals for Camden Hills (5-5). Kristina Alex, Hannah Brownwell and Grace Hayward each added a goal and the Windjammers.
