People chant at the start of a lunchtime rally to protest Gov. Paul LePage’s budget plan on Wednesday, on the plaza outside west entrance of the State House in Augusta.
Speakers included Hallowell Mayor Charlotte Warren; Leslie Manning, a board member of the Maine Council of Churches; and Ron Green, president of the Bangor Professional Firefighters.
The governor’s office is located near the rally site.
