Bond Street closed for paving today

AUGUSTA — Drivers who venture downtown Thursday are being encouraged to avoid Bond Street.
Deputy Chief Jared Mills of the Augusta police said the short street that connects State and Water streets will be closed for most of the day for paving.

The closure will take place weather permitting, Mills said. The street will reopen when paving is complete.

The paving project is part of the city’s ongoing improvement to the sewer system.
