Bereavement course for volunteers offered
SKOWHEGAN — “Bereavement Companion Volunteer” training will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning Wednesday, May 29 at Hospice Volunteers of Somerset County, 41 Main St. The six-week training will end on July 3. Those who attend are encouraged to bring a bag lunch.

Madison ready for Memorial Day events
MADISON — The Memorial Day p will begin at 10 a.m. Monday starting in Anson. Madison Post 39 American Legion Commander Ralph Withee will speak at the Anson Veterans Memorial. The parade will continue to Madison Library where Withee will present the Memorial Day message followed by the NCB39 Sea Cadets presenting the Table For One (POW/MIA Ceremony). The parade will then continue up Main Street to Madison Junoir High School.
