Augusta Police Department Officer Nathan Walker walks past the utility pole that was snapped Monday on Hospital Street, by a car driving in the north lane.
A passenger of the vehicle was transported to the hospital following the accident, which was reported just after 2 p.m., according to Walker.
The driver, Andrew Pinkham, 34, of Bath, was charged with operating a vehicle after suspension, Walker said.
