AUGUSTA — The cost of a gallon of gas in Maine has essentially remained steady in the past week, inching up by less than a penny.
Price-monitoring website MaineGasPrices.com reports Monday that the average retail price in Maine is $3.56 per gallon.
That’s still eight cents lower than the national average, which also remained unchanged.
Current in-state prices are just a penny higher than on the same day a year ago and almost 6 cents higher per gallon than a month ago.
The Maine price is based on a survey of more than 1.200 gas stations statewide.
