DIXFIELD — Top-seeded Dirigo battled back from a five-run, first-inning deficit on its way to a 7-6 win against No. 4 Hall-Dale in Western Maine Class C tournament semifinal  baseball action Monday.
 The Bulldogs chased Dirigo ace Kaine Hutchins in the first inning, getting a two-run single from Taylor Lockhart and RBI hits from Nick Snclair and Kurt Thiele. Chad Snowman pitched 62⁄3 of two-hit relief and his teammates did the rest. Snowman tripled home a pair of runs in Dirigo’s three-run first and Tyler Frost added an RBI double. The Cougars tied the game in the second on a two-run homer from T.J. Frost. Hall-Dale added a run in the top of the third on Matt Plourde’s groundout, but Dirigo took the lead for good with two runs in the bottom of the inning, the big hit an RBI triple from Spencer Trenoweth.
The loss snaps a nine-game win streak for Hall-Dale which finishes at 12-6. Dirigo, 16-2, advances to the regional final for the fourth year in a row and will meet No. 2 St. Dominic at St. Joseph’s College on Wednesday.
