Waterville Junior High School seventh grade student Tyler Dunn throws a ball during a dunk tank fundraiser for him on Monday.
Dunn is undergoing open-heart surgery in August. Students paid to throw balls and dunk school staff.
A sphagetti dinner and auction fundraiser for the Dunn family will be held June 22 at 5 p.m. at the George Mitchell School.
Asked how he felt about the support from friends and teachers, Dunn said, “It makes me feel happy.”
