A 37-year-old West Gardiner man was charged with theft for reportedly pawning his landlord’s home stereo system while the landlord was away on vacation.
A caller reported that his vehicle’s window had been smashed out at some point during the previous night. The investigation is ongoing.

LITCHFIELD
June 3
A 39-year-old man was served with a trespass notice by police responding to a complaint on Litchfield Road of several people on motorcycles driving slowly past the caller’s home and, according to a police report “looking at him menacingly.”
A GMC pickup truck, reportedly stolen, led police on a pursuit. The four-wheel-drive truck fled down a dirt road inaccessible to cars. The pickup was recovered several hours later and returned to the owner. The investigation is ongoing.

A 19-year-old man was charged with the sale and use of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by a minor. An 18-year-old man was charged with possession of a useable amount of marijuana during a traffic stop on Route 126 and for failure to use headlights while the wipers were in use.
Sunday
A 46-year-old Gardiner woman was charged with operating after suspension on Route 126.

June 4
Van Ames, 36, was arrested on a charge of criminal speed after police reportedly clocked his vehicle at 96 mph in a 65 mph zone on Interstate 295.
