MONMOUTH — A Winthrop woman was taken to the hospital after her car rolled over on Macomber Road on Tuesday.

Hannah Richards, 27, was taken to a Lewiston hospital with what were believed to be non life-threatening injuries, said Monmouth Police Officer Ryan Sherman.

The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m., as Richards was driving her Toyota Corolla south on Macomber Road. The Corolla veered onto the right-hand shoulder on a curve near Red Top Drive. Richards overcorrected, veered across the northbound lane and went into the ditch where the car turned over, Sherman said. Richards was helped from the car by a passerby.

The road remained open, though traffic was reduced to one lane, as responders tended to Richards and removed the vehicle.

Sherman said there are no charges associated with the crash.
