FAIRFIELD — Members of American Legion Auxiliary District 4 recently presented Wanda Parmenter, founding and 60-year member of Unit 195 China, with her American Legion Auxiliary Life Membership Card in appreciation of her efforts to establish and keep Unit 195 a strong and viable organization dedicated to our Veterans, our Children and our Communities.
Parmenter helped to start the Unit on the urging of her husband Fred, a Legion member back in 1952. She is an original charter member.
The Town of China, in appreciation, issued a Certificate of Dedication which was presented by District 4 President Veronica Rokosny with the help of incoming District 4 President Vicky Gould. This presentation was made during the District 4 Convention and Installation at the Post Home of Unit 14. Attendees includes her daughter, Freda Bailey, president of Unit 195; and members and officers of her Unit.
