Beekeeper Tom Bachelder adjusts his hood Monday while checking hives in a meadow in Litchfield.
The proprietor of Tom’s Honey and Pollination in Buckfield said he works around the hives with thousands of bees making honey without fear being stung.
“The bees are just like dogs,” Bachelder said. “If you’re afraid, they’ll pester you.”
