DAMRISCOTTA — River Arts invites Maine artists to enter the juried exhibition, “Maine Icons and Special Places.” Work in any media is encouraged including photography and sculpture. Artists may submit up to three works for an entry fee of $15 for members, $20 for nonmembers. Work can be dropped off July 12 and 13. Earlier submissions are accepted within usual gallery hours. The opening reception for the exhibition is set for 5-7 p.m. July 19.

The juror for this exhibition will be Portland native Bruce Brown. Brown has curated more than 200 exhibitions at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, and as curator emeritus continues to organize exhibitions on its behalf from time to time as well as at other venues as an independent curator.

Artists will be notified by email or phone of the juror’s decision. Submissions may not have been shown at River Arts previously. For more information, visit www.riverartsme.org, call 563-1507 or email info@riverartsme.org.

The museum is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday.
