SKOWHEGAN — The American Cancer Society — New England Division, a volunteer-based organization, accepts nominations for the Sandra C. Labaree Volunteer Values Awards, according a press release from American Cancer Society.

Judi York was on the first planning committee for Relay For Life of Somerset County in 2005 and helped establish the event in the community. Under her guidance the event has grown. York is committed to the mission of the American Cancer Society and shares that passion with her committee members and team captains.

“In her support of the American Cancer Society, Judi is a champion,” said Melissa Cushman, Community Executive for the Society, in the release. “She is very knowledgeable of the programs and services offered by the Society. Her goal is let cancer patients, survivors and caregivers know that they are supported; and to help the Society save more lives and celebrate more birthdays.”

Additional winners of Sandra C. Labaree Volunteer Values Award include Diane Yazwinski, of Yarmouth; Susan Towle, of South Portland; Bev Davis and Rick Litchfield, of Kennebunkport; and Jennifer Beadnell, of Portsmouth, N.H.
