WASHINGTON — A 5k run and one-mile fun run will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Prescott Memorial School, 100 Waldoboro Road.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. The 5k race will follow a challenging course through the village, along the Bill Luce Road and back to the school. The fun run starts at the school, traveling to the village, around the monument and back to the school.

Medals will be awarded. The entry fee costs $15 for the 5k and $10 for the fun run, with a $30 maximum per family, which includes a T-shirt while supplies last. A raffle will be held following the race.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Washington Community Scholarship Fund. The race is being held in conjunction with the Gibbs Library 20th anniversary.
