AUGUSTA — Old Fort Western will offer a Junior Interpreter Program from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, through Thursday, July 25.

The program is for children 13 to 18 years old interested in local history and stewardship. Participants will learn about the history of the fort, participate in hands-on activities and learn how to become historic interpreters at the fort. There will also be a visit to an archaeological site and students will learn how to process artifacts in an archaeological field lab.

Upon successful completion, junior interpreters are able to volunteer at the fort’s summer programs and special events.
