Dartmouth student

receives award

HANOVER, N.H. — Danelle Finnen, a junior at Dartmouth College, was presented the 2013 Melissa Brown Hurlock-Hobson Award at the Arts at Dartmouth Award Ceremony.

She is the daughter of Amy Finnen of Lisbon, Maine, and the late Dan Finnen. Finnen graduated from Corvalis High School in Corvalis, Ore., and received a scholarship to Dartmouth, where she majors in art and minors in environmental science. She will be a senior in the fall. She is currently in Cairo on a Dickey Foundation grant.

TAMPA, Fla. — Brady Frautten, a 2011 graduate of Winthrop High School, was named to the winter semester dean’s list in the College of Government and World Affairs at the University of Tampa.

Frautten is currently studying abroad for the summer in Europe.

Putnam graduates,

receives honors

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Allison Putnam, daughter of Roger and Sally Putnam of South China, Maine, has received a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude with honor, in education studies, from Skidmore College.

In addition, she received the John P. Shepard Prize in Education Studies, given annually to the student who has demonstrated superior performance in both academic achievement and fieldwork in education. She also received spring semester honors.

Bowie receives

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. — Katherine Bowie has been named to the spring semester dean’s list at Siena College.

At the college, Bowie is a member and starter of the field hockey team and made the Northeast Conference Fall 2012 Academic Honor Roll.

She is a member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad for Division I, 2012 season.

A 2011 graduate of Kents Hill School, she is the daughter of Ed and Debra Bowie of Augusta.
