BANGOR — Bangor police helped save a man’s life — then arrested him.

Officials say police officer Jeremy Brock provided CPR on a motionless man before paramedics arrived to fully revive the man in the Mansfield Stadium parking lot on Wednesday. Police later visited the man at a hospital emergency room following the discovery of pills and a switchblade knife.

Police say the man, 34-year-old Michael Kashey of Dedham, faces charges of possession of heroin, trafficking drugs and trafficking knives, in addition to outstanding warrants.

Police say the man’s girlfriend told them that he injected heroin before losing consciousness. He’s currently jailed, and it’s unclear if he has an attorney.
