The Maine Warden Service is asking for the public’s help in finding a Tennessee woman last seen Sunday near Rangeley.

Geraldine Anita Largay, 66, of Brentwood, Tenn., was last seen on Route 4 in Sandy River Plantation, which borders Rangeley to the southeast, according to a news release from Cpl. John MacDonald of the warden service. She had been hiking the Appalachian Trail when she disappeared.

The release states Largay is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighs 115 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. She was seen last wearing a black pullover shirt, tan pants, a blue hat and a black-and-green backpack.

She had planned to meet her husband Monday in Wyman Township. She texted her husband 7:15 a.m. Monday but never arrived at their meeting place, MacDonald said.

Anyone with information about Largay is asked to call the Public Safety Dispatch Center in Augusta at 800-452-4664.
