AUGUSTA (AP) — Gasoline prices in Maine continue to trickle down following steep increases earlier this summer.
Price-monitoring website MaineGasPrices.com reports Monday that the average retail cost of a gallon of gas has fallen nearly 2 cents in the past week to an average of $3.75.
That’s still 12 cents per gallon above the national average.
Prices in Maine are still almost 23 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and about 6 cents per gallon higher than at the same time last year.
The prices are based on a survey of more than 1,200 Maine gas stations.
