AUGUSTA — The Maine Veterans’ Home recently announced a new director of its compliance and quality programs.

Donna L. Gosselin will be in charge of the organization’s compliance and quality programs at its six facilities located across Maine, housing 462 nursing and rehabilitation beds and 178 residential care dementia beds, according to a press release from the organization.

Gosselin, of Monmouth, was previously the director of nursing at Seaside Healthcare in Portland for about a year, according to the release. She worked at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston for 20 years prior to that. She also served as a nurse in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1993 to 1997.

“I am proud to be a part of such a great team here, and I am honored to be entrusted with this new responsibility,” Gosselin said in the release.

Maine Veterans’ Homes is a public, not-for-profit organization created by the Maine Legislature in 1977 to offer care for the state’s veterans. It has facilities in Augusta, Caribou, Scarborough, South Paris, Bangor and Machias.
