My wife and I live on my farm on Abijah Hill Road in Starks; my daughter and grandchildren live next door.

I wish to express our uniform anguish about the proposal for a 195-foot cell tower now before the Starks Planning Board. Such a commercial and, I believe, toxic structure directly overshadowing our organic farm would be adverse to the pastoral and agricultural heritage that persevere here today.

Surely, we must proceed with caution until more becomes know about the harm from nonionizing radiation and unrepentant corporate greed in general.

I urge voters of Starks to attend the town meeting this at 7 p.m. Thursday and join me in voting yes on the moratorium. Let’s give Starks the time to develop an ordinance that reflects the recommendations of our Comprehensive Plan and is a community decision based on fact finding.
