KNOX — A rider at a horse show in the Waldo County town of Knox was injured and taken to a local hospital this afternoon.
A dispatcher at the Waldo County Regional Communications Center in Belfast said the woman was taken to the hospital by an ambulance service operated by the Arthur Jewell Community Health Center in Brooks.
The dispatcher said deputies were not sent to the scene because it was not a motor vehicle accident and happened on private property. She said no further details were available. A telephone message left at the health center in Brooks was not immediately returned.
An online messaging and alert system reported a woman fell off her horse and the horse rolled over her on Abbott Road in Knox. There was no additional information.
