BAR HARBOR — Olivia Lopes, a senior at Waterville High School, received an award for the best presentation by a high school student on July 30 at the Student Symposium at the Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory. Lopes is one of 37 high school and college students conducting research at laboratory this summer. She is the daughter of Tiffany and Joe Lopes, of Waterville.
