WINSLOW — The Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation has donated $10,000 to Winslow High School Performing Arts, helping the school pay for new stage curtains and upgraded lighting equipment.

In August, several local businesses organized a fundraising concert for the performing arts programs, raising $1,800 for the extracurricular programs, which include jazz band, chorus and drama.

The grant announcement, posted on the Winslow High School website, thanked the foundation for the grant; but beyond that, school officials wouldn’t comment.

A school official cited a stipulation from the foundation prohibiting them from publicizing the grant other than on the school’s website.

The foundation didn’t return calls seeking comment.
