AUGUSTA — Charles Michael Luber, of Augusta, will serve as a team member and AmeriCorps volunteer for the 2013 season of the Maine Conservation Corps.
Luber is the son of Holly and Kim Luber of Augusta. He is a 2013 graduate of Cony High School.

Brown brothers
receive degrees
ORONO — Brothers Robert W. Brown and Paul L. Brown have been awarded degrees from their respective universities.
Robert Brown was awarded a degree with honors from the Honors College of the University of Maine at Orono.
Paul Brown was awarded a master’s degree in finance from the University of Tampa.
They are the sons of Kathy and William Brown of Mount Vernon.
Simmons College
lists dean’s students
BOSTON — Two local students, Emily Kaley and Zoie Kaley, both of Manchester, have graduated from Simmons College.
Emily Kaley received a bachelor’s degree from the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Zoie Kaley, a psychology major who was also named to the spring semester dean’s list, received a bachelor’s degree from the College of Arts and Sciences.
Students named to the college’s spring 2013 semester dean’s were Jesse Barnes of Readfield, a psychology major, and Katherine Michelsen of Winthrop, an exercise science major.
Beaulieu named
to dean’s list
BANGOR — Allison Beaulieu, daughter of Joel and Kelly Beaulieu of Gardiner, has been named to the fall semester presidential dean’s list at Husson University in Bangor.
Beaulieu is majoring in the nursing program.
Military
Brochu completes
basic training
WEST POINT, N.Y. — Cadet Alyssa Rae Brochu, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Al Brochu of Augusta, Maine, has completed Cadet Basic Training at the U.S. Military Academy.
Areas of instruction in the six-week program included first aid, mountaineering, hand grenades, rifle marksmanship and nuclear, biological, and chemical training.
Brochu, who recently began classes at the academy, has also earned a spot on the Army Black Knights Cheering Squad.
Brochu graduated from Cony High School. She plans to graduate from West Point in 2017 and be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army.
Naum graduates
basic training
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Army National Guard Pvt. Andrew J. Naum has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.
Naum is the son of Lauri and Andrew Naum of Rockland. He is the grandson of Roger Mills of Windsor. He is a 2012 graduate of Medomak Valley High School, Waldoboro.
Chapman graduates
basic training
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Army Pvt. Casey A. Chapman has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.
Chapman is the son of Adelaide and Cory Chapman of Chelsea, Maine. He is a 2012 graduate of Hall-Dale High School, Hallowell, Maine.
