HINCKLEY — L.C. Bates Museum has announced the following upcoming events:

* Moon Night is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday. Participants can look through a telescope at a full moon and make a moon chart of the phases of the moon to bring home.

* Special Wednesday Art Afternoons for Girls is planned for 3 p.m. Sept. 25, Oct. 2, 6, 16, 23, 30 and Nov. 6. Girls and families welcome to explore many varied art mediums from watercolors to sand paintings to printing and beyond. Call ahead to find out each weeks medium or subject matter.

* Smithsonian Museum Day is set for 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 28. Museums around the United States are free with a Smithsonian “ticket.” For more information, visit smithsonianmag.com.

* Mushroom Walk with expert Richard Tory is planned for 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 29. Sign up in advance only; 238-4250.
