Event set to help victims of violence
FAIRFIELD — A Community craft and vendor fair is set for 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Kennebec Valley Community College to help raise awareness about domestic violence. Local politicians are encouraged to come and speak about their views and how they plan to address this issue.

Morse Mountain Beach trip planned
FARMINGTON — A day trip is set for 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Morse Mountain Beach. All bikers should meet at the UMF Fitness & Recreation Center for a trip to visit the Bates’ Morse Mountain Conservation Area in Phippsburg. A two-mile hike on a fire road to a beach is planned. Bring water and pack lunch. There will be no public facilities at the beach. Closed-toed shoes are required.

UMF golf scramble planned for Sunday
FARMINGTON — Fitness and Recreation Center’s fourth annual golf tournament will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday at Turner Highlands, an 18-hole golf course. The tournament is intended to be recreational, all abilities are welcome. The format is a fun scramble with shotgun start.

Fall cemetery cleanup planned for Oct. 15
OAKLAND — Fall cleanup in all Oakland cemeteries will start Tuesday, Oct. 15. Prior to this date organizers ask that all summer artificial flowers, vases, baskets and other items be removed. After Oct. 15, personnel will dispose of all items left behind.
