AUGUSTA — Maine’s fall foliage colors are gradually approaching their peak conditions throughout the state.
State conservation officials said in their weekly fall foliage report on Wednesday that Aroostook County and the western part of the state are now reporting peak conditions. The eastern part of the state from Calais to Bar Harbor is reporting 75 percent to 100 percent toward peak.
The report says that leaf drop is still relatively low, meaning there are plenty of colorful leaves left on trees for viewing.
The foliage reports are updated weekly through mid-October on www.mainefoliage.com .
