VIENNA — The Vienna Historical Society has announced its current exhibit that pays tribute to the working women of Vienna and Mount Vernon during the first half of the 20th century.

The exhibit — “We Did It! Women at Work, Vienna and Mount Vernon, 1900s to 1950s” — features women who worked as teachers, telephone operators, writers, dressmakers, clerks, innkeepers, musicians, farmers and more. More than 100 women are represented with a photo and description of their work.

The exhibit will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through October at the historical society building, Highway 41, Vienna Village. There is no cost and all are welcome.

A closing reception will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, during which a new book memorializing the exhibit will be on sale. For more information, visit www.viennahistoricalsociety.com.
