As I sat in my car for 45 minutes today, while on my way back from work (normally a 15-minute ride), I wondered if the workers and road crew of Summit Natural Gas were part of the government shutdown.
When I finally drove past the work site, every single person in yellow and orange vests was sitting or standing idle along the side of the road.
I had plenty of time to think about the shutdown as I idled away about 15 hard-earned dollars’ worth of gas, along with an assembly line-sized parade of cars.
Pity the poor Mars rover, millions of miles away on the red planet, also sitting idle, because of the government shutdown. I’ll bet the rover is thinking it should come back to Earth and look for intelligent life right here at home.
