FARMINGTON — The Colby men’s soccer team scored four goals in 20 minutes early in the second half to break open a tight game and beat the University of Maine at Farmington 5-0 on Wednesday.
The Mules’ first two goals were own goals. Charlie Dupree scored for Colby (4-5-0) to make it 3-0 in the 51st minute, then Keith Chernin scored 13 minutes later to make it 4-0. Jonathan Sommer scored the final goal of the game for the Mules.
Peter Quayle had one saves for the Mules, while Ronie Morales had 12 saves for the Beavers (2-7-1).
Women’s soccer
Colby 8, Husson 1: The Mules scored five goals in the second half on their way to a non-conference win over the Eagles in Waterville.
Abby Hatch had two goals and an assist for Colby (4-4-0). Ruthie Hawley and Hallie Hesslein also had a goal and an assist for the Mules. Amelie Barnett, Cami Notaro, Janie O’Halloran and Alex Yorke each added a goal for Colby. Emily Brooks had three saves and Ashley Conley had one.
Shaunna Beaudoin scored for Husson. Lawrence graduate Jess Poulin had seven saves for the Eagles and Jaclyn MacDonald had three.
