GARDINER — The fourth annual Swine & Stein will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Water Street.

Restaurants and street vendors will serve an array of pork-driven dishes, including pulled pork and sausages. The Kennebec Local Food Initiative and Gardiner Farmers Market will present a “grow local” section, featuring samples and vegetarian options from Maine harvests.

Activities include a chicken fling, frozen T-shirt race, and Maine’s 2nd Annual Rock Paper Scissors Championship. Pumpkin carving and other children’s activities will also be available on Water Street.

Performers at the event include Sorcha with Jo Sorrel, The Ghost of Paul Revere, The Oktoberfest German Band, The Calypso Soldiers, and The Business.

Tickets cost $10 or $15 with beer tasting. The first 1,000 people through the gates on the day of the event will receive a complimentary souvenir taster glass. Admission is free for children younger than 12.

This event will take place rain or shine.
