FREEPORT — L.L. Bean’s 100th anniversary is in its rearview mirror but the Bootmobile drives on.

The mobile version of L.L. Bean’s hunting boot created for the outdoors retailer’s anniversary is hitting the road with a tour of college campuses, starting at the University of New Hampshire on Friday.

The 15-campus event is dubbed the “Wintervention College Tour” and is aimed at encouraging students to get outdoors this winter.

Students will have an opportunity to check out the latest winter gear. There will be giveaways, as well.
