Jim and Rick Davis, of New Sharon, recently earned their first honorable mention for the 2013 HOPE Award from Horizon Organic.

The Horizon Organic Producer Education Award is given out to those who advocate for organic agriculture, while the National Quality Award recognizes the Horizon farmer who produces the highest quality organic milk in the Horizon milk supply. The Davis’ have been shipping to Horizon since 2007. They often host farm tours and encourage other farmers to make the transition to organic.

They were honored Sept. 21 during the annual Farm Aid concert in Syracuse, N.Y.
