WINTHROP — Rachel Ingram scored off a penalty corner with 2 minutes, 30 seconds left in the half to lead No. 3 Winthrop field hockey team past No. 6 Orono 1-0 in an Eastern C quarterfinal game Wednesday.

Catherine Ouellette took the penalty corner for the Ramblers (12-2-1). Alyssa Arsenault had two saves to earn the shutout.

Jessica Miller had 15 saves for Orono (9-4-2).

Boys soccer

Hall-Dale 4, St. Dominic 1: Konnor Longfellow and Ryan Sinclair each scored two goals to lead the Bulldogs in the Mountain Valley Conference championship game at Thomas College.

Nat Crocker and Sinclair also had two assists for the Bulldogs, who led 2-1 at the half before breaking it open. Hall-Dale (14-0) enters the Western C tournament as the No. 1 seed.

John Sturgess scored an unassisted goal for the Saints, who will enter the Western C tournament as the No. 4 seed.

Brian Allen had eight saves for Hall-Dale while Ben Sawyer had seven for St. Dominic.

Men’s soccer

Thomas 3, UMF 0: The Terriers scored three first-half goals on their way to a North Atlantic Conference win at Prescott Field.

Maranacook graduate Dakota Duplissie put Thomas (8-6-1, 5-2-0) on the board 10 minutes into the game when he punched in a chip from Mikal Simmons. Guled Guled doubled the lead in the 23rd minute with an assist from Tre Ming and Michael Hand capped the scoring in the 34th minute.

Winston Trott had six saves and Joakim Sternas one for Thomas. Derek Reilly had three saves for UMF (3-11-1, 1-5-1).

Field hockey

St. Joseph’s 1, UM-Farmington 0: Theresa Hendrix scored the lone goal of the game in the 22nd minute in a NAC win in Standish.

Carley Denis had an assist for St. Joseph’s (12-2-0, 6-2-0).

Curren Brierley had four saves for UMF (6-6-0, 5-3-0).
