FARMINGTON — Kayla Tuttle had two goals and two assists to lead the University of Maine at Farmington to a 7-0 win over Green Mountain College in North Atlantic Conference women soccer action Saturday.

Tuttle, a Wateville graduate, scored her 14th goal of the season, moving her up to sixth in goals and points among UMF career single season leaders. Erskine graduate Bridget Humphrey added two goals while Ava Amador and Alex Crocker also scored for the Beavers (8-6-2, 7-1-0). Beth Lebel, Samantha Hatch and Cony grad Amy Jones shared time in net, combining for two saves.

Amber Heath stopped eight shots for Green Mountain (5-10-0, 1-7-0).

Castleton State 1, Thomas 0: Blaire Hooper scored to lift the Spartans to a NAC win in Waterville.
Thomas nearly cracked the tie minutes before at 49:43 on a cross to the box by Kajsa Kaufeldt that found Bronte Howorth. However, a charging Jessica Binkowski eliminated the scoring threat with a point blank save.

Binkowski made two saves for Castleton (11-7, 7-1). Kate Thibodeau made 14 saves for Thomas (3-12, 1-7).

Bowdoin 2, Colby 0: The Polar Bears scored a pair of second half goals to take the New England Small College Athletic Conference win in Brunswick.

Kiersten Turner and Jamie Hofstetter each scored for Bowdoin (10-2-1, 6-2-1).

Bridget McCarthy made five saves for the shutout win. Brooks had four stops for Colby (5-6-2, 1-6-2).

Men’s soccer

Bowdoin 4, Colby 1: Zach Danssaert scored a goal and two assists as Bowdoin scored three goals in the second half to win in Brunswick.

Noah Safian made four saves for the Polar Bears ( 8-2-3, 5-2-2), who won their sixth straight game. Keith Chernin scored for Colby (4-9-0, 0-9-0 NESCAC). Cody Funkhouser made five stops for the Mules.

Castleton 1, Thomas 0: Castleton’s Bryce Kaler broke a scoreless match with a strike from the just outside the box, firing it past Thomas netminder Mikkail Crockwell on the far post to seal the victory in overtime, in Waterville.

Crockwell made three saves for Thomas (8-7-1, 5-3 NAC). Nate Koenemann made two saves for Castleton (11-3-2, 6-1-1).

UMF 6, Green Mountain 0: Four players scored goals in the second half to lead the Beavers to the NAC win in Farmington. Ibrahim Achekh and Jordan Kim each had two goals for UMF (4-11-1, 2-5-1) while Matt Potter and Dahir Muktar also scored. Derek Reilly and Chirs Roberts combined to make 12 saves. Green Mountain falls to 2-14-0 and 1-7-0 in the conference.

Field hockey

Bowdoin 4, Colby 0: Bowdoin earned its record-breaking 40th consecutive home win, dating back to 2010.
The second-ranked Polar Bears improve to 12-1 and 8-1 in the NESCAC. Bowdoin holds the longest active home winning streak in Division III field hockey, and bested their program record of 39 set between 2004-08.
Colby falls to 8-5 and 4-5 in the conference.

UMF 5, Lasell 0: Mara Balboni scored two goals to lead the Beavers to the NAC win in Farmington. Kate Storey, Kaitlyn Bullen and Chelsea Morley also scored for UMF (7-6-0, 6-2-0). Kashley Weymouth had two assists. Curran Brierley made four saves.

Thomas 4, Rivier 1: Four different players scored as the Terriers snapped a five-game losing streak in NAC action, in Nashua, N.H. Michelle Green, Brittany Premo, Miranda Tinsman and Samantha Clark each had a goal. Abbie Charrier made four saves for Thomas (6-9, 3-5). Makenzie Flagg stopped 11 shots for Rivier.

Also on Sunday: Albion’s Jess Poulin made seven saves for the Husson women’s soccer team in a 3-0 loss to Colby-Sawyer.
