Let me see if I understand our history.

The Allies defeated the Axis powers with an all-out effort in World War II. The communists then did their best to force their system on the world. The Soviet Union eventually fell apart. This is because capitalism does a much more efficient job of managing scarce resources for production.

The top-down government control model of communism was defeated because the West was able to massively outspend the communists on defense. The Soviet Union threw in the towel (and tore down the wall).

Then we turned around and elected a president whose philosophy is more closely aligned with the communist government control model than with the free-market philosophy of the West. As he said to Joe the Plumber, “I just want to spread it around. What’s wrong with that?” What a country. How’s your health care plan working out?
