In his Nov. 15 column (“Supreme Court between hard place, rock on matter of legislative prayer”), Joseph Reisert wrote about prayers opening a legislative session: “To ban all legislative prayer … would yield a result identical to the establishment of atheism.” This statement warrants an explanation.
