BIDDEFORD — Police say the suspect in 10 armed robberies in the Biddeford area has been found dead in his apartment.
Deputy Police Chief JoAnne Fisk says it appears the man took his own life. He was found at about 1 a.m. Friday.
Police recovered weapons they think were used in some of the robberies in his King Street apartment.
His name was not immediately made public.
Local police with the help of state and federal authorities closed in on the suspect following a robbery at the May Mee restaurant on Thursday afternoon. Similar robberies have taken place at convenience stores, restaurants and gas stations recently in Biddeford, Saco and Arundel.
No one was hurt in any of the robberies.
