Mike McPherson rakes snow Thursday off the roof of a garage at his aunt and uncle’s Farmingdale home. McPherson said he felt compelled to rake ahead of rain and ice expected this weekend when he encountered his 86-year-old uncle standing on the slippery metal roof, shoveling snow in the rain.
