NEW YORK — The New York Police Department says a man and his 3-year-old son died after plummeting from a Manhattan apartment building.
Authorities say they received an emergency call reporting two jumpers from the 52-floor building around noon Sunday. Officers found 35-year-old Dimitry Kanarikov and his son on the rooftops of two nearby buildings.
Police say the Brooklyn man was pronounced dead at the scene and his son, Kirill Kanarikov, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The circumstances of the fall are unclear. Authorities are investigating. Police say the father did not live in the building.
The address is an Upper West Side building listed as South Park Tower. The building is a short distance away from Columbus Circle and Lincoln Center.
