In 1999, I applied to the Federal Communications Commission for Vanity Call k9nco.
Thinking that it would enhance my amateur radio “ham” hobby, I requested and was lucky to receive vanity license plate K9NCO from the state of Maine.
“Renting” these plates for the past 14 years has cost me $350 (14 years @ 25.00 per year). Now, it certainly would be a nice gesture if, after paying for vanity plates 10 years or so, the powers that be would send all Maine vanity plate holders, a “paid in full” notice.
