I had a dream about Santa Claus. He was walking down the street with his bag of toys for the girls and boys. He passed by a nativity set of Joseph, Mary and Jesus. He then stopped, kneeled down and prayed: “Lord, they used to call me Kris Kringle, Kris as in Christ to honor your name dear Jesus. Now they call me Santa Claus, which is OK, I guess, but now, dear Lord, many worship me and use your name as a swear word. They forgot to pass along the true meaning of the Christ in Christmas; how that God sent you to save us from the penalty of our sins; that you are the greatest gift to be given. And all you asked of us was to have faith, believe and pass the good news on to each new generation. Forgive us again, Lord, and lead us in the way everlasting, because you are faithful even when we’re not. Your love endures forever, and if we confess our sins, you are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all sins. Thank you, Lord, and happy birthday. Amen.”
