FARMINGTON — The Farmington Seed Savers Group announces its fourth annual Seed Saving Conference. The conference is scheduled to take place from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the University of Maine at Farmington. The snow date will Feb. 15. The 2014 conference will focus on growing plants to save seed. Classes will include soil nutrition, isolation, insect control, seed-borne diseases, basic seed saving and advanced seed saving. Brochures will be available mid-January at the Saturday Farmington winter farmer’s market and at The Better Living Center. This event is sponsored by Farmington Seed Savers Group. A $5 donation is suggested to help with funding.
