Staff report

HALLOWELL — Austin Davis had a goal and two assists to lead Cony/Monmouth past Mt. Ararat 4-0 in a Class A boys hockey game Saturday.

Aaron Manter, Evan Bowers and Anthony Brunelle each tallied goals for Cony (5-2). Rams goalie Tom Small made 18 saves.

Kyle Welch had 34 saves for Mt. Ararat (4-3).

BOYS BASKETBALL

Cony 52, Mt. Blue 41: Tyler Tardiff hit a key 3-pointer with a little more than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter and the Rams held on for the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A win.

Tardiff finished with six points for Cony (3-5). Ben Lucas scored a team-high 14 points while Liam Stokes added nine for the Rams, who trailed 28-26 at the half and 36-35 heading into the fourth quarter.

Zack Mittelstadt scored 15 points to pace the Cougars (2-5).

MESSALONSKEE 53, LEWISTON 40: Nick Mayo scored 12 points and had 18 rebounds to lead the Eagles to a KVAC A win in Oakland.

Jordon Holmes scored a game-high 14 points and had four steals, while Jordan Carson added 11 points and 11 rebounds for Messalonskee (6-2).

Quintarian Brown led Lewiston (3-4) with 11 points.

HALL-DALE 48, ST. DOMINIC 43: Ryan Sinclair scored 12 points to lead the Bulldogs to a Mountain Valley Conference win in Auburn.

Wesley Lapointe and Taylor Lockhart each scored nine points for Hall-Dale (6-1).

Matt Dyer led St. Dom’s (2-5) with 17 points.

Maranacook 69, Morse 53: Taylor Wilbur hit seven 3-pointers and scored 38 points as the Black Bears won the KVAC B game in Bath.

Maranacook (6-2) scored 45 points in the first half. Kent Mohlar finished with 14 points for the Black Bears. Cam Brochu hauled down 15 rebounds, and Caleb Jackson had five assists.

Liam McDonough had 17 points and Jacob Freeman added 11 for Morse. The teams combined to hit 17 3-pointers in the game.

Winthrop 70, Carrabec 31: The Ramblers led 39-14 at halftime and went on to the MVC victory in Winthrop.

Jacob Hickey scored 17 points and Dakota Carter added 16 for the Ramblers (6-2). In all, 11 different players scored for Winthrop.

Carrabec (1-6) also had 11 different players score. Two players tied for the team lead with four points.

WISCASSET 78, OAK HILL 63: Dalton Therrien and Parker Asselin each scored 17 points for the Raiders, but it wasn’t enough in their loss to the Wolverines in Wiscasset.

Derek Gamage added 13 points for Oak Hill (3-4).

Dale Peaslee led Wiscasset (5-2) with 20 points, while Chandler Longfellow added 13 points.

Monmouth 49, Mt. Abram 16: Kylie Kemp had 14 points and 16 rebounds to lead the host Mustangs to the MVC win.

Jenna Davies added 11 points and 10 rebounds for Monmouth (5-2) while Sidney Wilson added nine points.

Mt. Abram (1-5) was led by Alex Harnden with six points.

Messalonskee 55, Lewiston 35: Sophie Holmes scored 16 points and made four 3-pointers to lead the Eagles to the KVAC A win in Lewiston.

Mikayla Turner scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds for Messalonskee (6-2). Kelsey Mayo had eight points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles.

Kristina Blais led Lewiston (2-5) with eight points.

MT. BLUE 57, CONY 29: Miranda Nicely scored a game-high 24 points and Caitlin Kane added 10 to lead the Cougars to the KVAC A victory. Addie Brinkman and Eryn Doiron each scored seven points for Mt. Blue (4-4) as well.

Emily Quirion scored a team-high 15 points and Hayley Quirion added nine to pace the Rams (5-3).

Oak Hill 54, Madison 47: The Raiders took control in the third quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs 20-9 to capture the MVC win in Wales.

Sadie Goulet led a balanced Oak Hill offense with 12 points. Meagan Crosby added 11 and Danielle Samson and Bri Mulherin scored nine apiece. Mulherin also grabbed 10 rebounds. In the third quarter, Crosby and Mulherin each scored six points for Oak Hill (5-3).

Kayla Bess scored 12 points and Kirsten Wood chipped in with nine for Madison (5-2).

St. Dominic 51, Hall-Dale 33: The Saints jumped out to a 31-20 halftime lead and never looked back on their way to the MVC win in Farmingdale.

Kelly Pomerleau scored a game-high 20 points for St. Dominic (7-1) while Callie Greco added 12 and Faith Grady chipped in 11.

Hall-Dale (3-4) was led by Nicole Pelletier with 10 points.

Lincoln 63, Gardiner 56: The Eagles outscored the Tigers 20-6 in the decisive third quarter to take the KVAC B win in Newcastle.

Jen Genthner led Lincoln (5-2) with 26 points. Barrett Campbell added 14 and Brie Wajer finished with 10. The Eagles trailed 30-21 at halftime.

Morgan Carver was Gardiner’s (4-3) high scorer with 15 points. Freshman Lauren Chadwick added 13.

Valley 36, Richmond 33: Kyla White scored 12 points to lead the visiting Cavaliers to the East/West Conference win.

Kirsten Mathew and Teagan Lawyerson added eight points apiece for Valley (3-4).

Kelsea Anair had 14 points, five rebounds and four blocks for Richmond (3-4). Morgan Harrington added five points and nine rebounds.

Maranacook 56, Morse 36: Christine Miller led the way with 32 points and nine rebounds as the Black Bears won the KVAC B game in Readfield.

Miller hit four 3-pointers and added three steals and three assists. Liz D’Angelo scored nine points and Catherine Sanborn had five steals for Maranacook (5-3).

Signe Ostergaard paced Morse (2-6) with 15 points.
