Archie Furbush (letter, “Thank utility workers for all their hard work,” Dec. 30) was correct in saying that we should all acknowledge the crews from Central Maine Power Co. and the other utilities who aided in the restoration effort from the ice storm. They did a great job.
I for one was very grateful when my power came back on Christmas Day. I’ve honked my horn in appreciation for every crew that I’ve passed in my travels. And, we must not forget to thank their families.
But we also need to remember all those Maine Department of Transportation, local public works and contracted road crews who have worked so hard battling to clear our roads during these storms. These men and women have worked many long hours, under very severe weather conditions, as well.
