HENNIKER, N.H. — Skowhegan Area High School graduate Levi Barnes scored 20 points as the Thomas College men’s basketball team beat New England College 91-73 in a North Atlantic Conference men’s basketball game Friday evening.

Stanley Greene Jr. led all scorers with 22 points for Thomas, which improves to 3-7, 3-2 in the North Atlantic Conference. Marquis Pollard added 18 points and Eric Westbrooks 13.

Dezron wilson had 16 points, while Jonathan Byrnes and Terrance Thompson each had 13 points for NEC (5-7, 2-3 in the conference).

Colby-Sawyer 73, UM-FARMINGTON 68: Maranacook Community School graduate Ben Johnson had 13 points and 13 rebounds, but the Beavers lost the North Atlantic Conference game in New London, N.H.

Koang Thok had 16 points to lead Colby-Sawyer (5-6, 4-1 in the conference). Jake Maynard added 13, while Zach Bean chipped in with 12 and Wol Majong 11.

Andrew Dickey led all scorers with 20 points for UMF (5-6, 3-2 in the conference). Pet Sumner added 16 and Garrett Clemmer 10.

COLBY 75, WESLEAN 69: The Mules used a 13-0 run over the final 3:34 of the game to stun the Cardinals in Waterville.

Wesleyan led by as much as nine points with 8:46 to play and was up 69-62 when Joe Edmonds hit a 3-point shot with 4:56 to goal.

Patrick Stewart hit a pair of free throws to start the comeback. Ryan Jann added a jumper and Chris Hudnut two free throws to make a one-point game with 1:53 left. Jann added another three to give Colby (7-4, 1-0 in the NESCAC) a 71-69 lead and Luke Westman made it a four-point lead with 17 seconds left. Jann closed out the scoring with a pair of free throws.

Edmonds finished with 21 points for Wesleyan, while Conno O’Neil and Jann had 17 poitns each for Colby. Hudnut chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Women’s basketball

WESLEYAN 59, COLBY 49: Cherika Lashley scored all 11 of her points in the first half as the Cardinals beat the Mules in the New England Small College Athletic Conference opener for both teams, in Waterville.

KellyAnn Rooney and Jenna Klaes also had 11 points each for Wesleyan (10-3, 1-0 in the conference). Lashley and Rooney each had seven rebounds.

Desi Smith had 15 points and Hall-Dale High School graduate Carylanne Wolfington had 11 points, nine rebounds and three assists for Colby (5-8, 0-1 in the conference). Gabe Donahue added 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Mules.

Colby-Sawyer 79, UM-Farmington 56: Ashley Fruzzetti had 20 points, including six 3-pointers as the Chargers beat the Beavers in a NAC game in New London, N.H.

Kelsey Cahill had 14 points for Colby-Sawyer (5-6, 4-1 in the conference).

Lindsay Ranquist had 15 points and Alya Allen had eight for UMF (4-8, 3-2 in the conference).

NEC 62, Thomas 41: Kiley Williams came of the bench to score 18 points and lead the Pilgrims to an NAC win over the Terriers in Henniker, N.H.

Kayla Lawlor had 16 points and Taylor Burgess added 14 for NEC (7-4, 4-1 in the conference).

Katie McAllister had 15 points for Thomas (2-8, 2-3 in the conference).

Alpine

Women: Jeanne Barthold finished 13th to lead the Mules to a sixth-place finish at the University of Vermont Carnival in Stowe, Vt. Barthold had a two-run time of 2 minutes, 8.61 seconds. The Mules finished with 76 points behind Vermont with 107, Dartmouth with 106, New Hampshire with 87, Middlebury with 82 and Bates with 78. Other finishers for Colby were: Mardi Haskell (15th, 2:08.95), Destrey Enders (18th, 2:10.30), Brittney Ziebell (27th, 2:12.01) and Paige Whistler (31st, 2:13.76).

Men: Matthew McKenna was 15th in a time of 2:03.38 as the Mules came in fifth place at the University of Vermont Carnival in Stowe, Vt. Vermont won with a total of 127 points. Dartmouth (113), New Hampshire (96) and Middlebury (80) rounded out the top five. Other finishers for Colby were: Craig Marshall (21st, 2:04.29) and Jim Ryan (26th, 2:05.07).
