VINALHAVEN — Matt Holt scored 24 points as Richmond defeated Vinalhaven 73-51 to finish off an East/West Conference sweep in boys basketball action Saturday. The Bobcats won 67-35 on Friday night.
Mike Stewart added 12 points and 13 rebounds in the second game for Richmond (8-4) while Cameron Emmons chipped in with six points and seven assists. Shawn Bernier was also in double figures with 12.
Cody Hamilton scored 21 points to lead Vinalhaven (1-11).
On Friday, Tyler Soucy was the leading scorer for the Bobcats with 22 points. He also had seven rebounds. Doug Day had 14 points for the Vikings.
MONMOUTH 68, MT. ABRAM 47: Marcques Houston scored 14 points to lead the host Mustangs to the MVC win.
Kasey Smith and Hunter Richardson added 13 points apiece for Monmouth (8-4).
Mt. Abram (1-11) was led by Amos Withee and Artie Ryan with 13 points each.
Winchendon 69, Kents Hill 40: Isaiah Ruffen scored 17 points to lead Winchendon to the win.
Malique Mclaren and Nigel Hambera added 11 points each.
Kents Hill (3-3) was led by Nelkas Kwemo with 12 points.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
RICHMOND 53, VINALHAVEN 38: Kelsea Anair had 17 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Bobcats to the East/West Conference win on Vinalhaven.
Meranda Martin added 15 points and nine rebounds for Richmond (5-8).
Vinalhaven was led by Ashley Hamilton with 14 points.
BOYS HOCKEY
Messalonskee 6, Hampden 0: Chase Cunningham scored a goal and five assists to lead the Eagles in an Eastern B game at Sukee Arena. Jared Cunningham had five assists while Dan Condon had a hat trick for Messalonskee (9-0-0).
Brandon Nale and Jake Dexter also scored for Messalonskee. Ryan Manning had 27 saves to lead the Broncos (4-4-2).
